Climate GOAT Campaign
Our future is on the ballot. 🗳️
With the ongoing election season, it’s time for the leaders of the next generation to step up. Students, use your voice to emphasize the need for climate action in politics!
The Climate GOAT campaign is a collaboration between the Higher Education and National Youth Action Teams of Citizens’ Climate Lobby with the aim of mobilizing climate voting through student voices.
Getting Involved 🐐
To begin with, in order to persuade people to prioritize climate change while voting, the campaign utilizes two simple methods of communication: relational organizing and deep canvassing. While it may seem difficult to tackle such a large-scale issue, we have developed numerous resources (found in the resource section) to get involved. Even if you are under 18, you can still contribute meaningfully to these efforts. As you gain experience over time, you can also recruit others to partake in the campaign!
Relational Organizing
Relational organizing is a strategy in which you encourage people you share close connections with, such as family members, mentors, and peers, to think twice about how their vote helps or hurts our climate. This is done in order to mobilize a community of climate voters.
Deep Canvasing
If you’re willing to step outside your comfort zone, you can use deep canvassing. Deep canvassing is another conversation method that emphasizes empathy and emotion with the intention of opening up someone’s mind regarding a significant subject, such as climate change!
